Review by hotel critic
As a tea plantation owner always in pursuit of culinary delights, my recent escape to Coconut Bar Sea Lodge was a perfect blend of relaxation and gastronomic exploration. Nestled just 45 km from Beruwela Airport, the terrace and bar at this property set the stage for a delightful stay. Upon awakening, the aroma of a free cooked-to-order breakfast lured me to the sunlit dining area. the extensive buffet featuring both local and continental options provided a satisfying start to my day. the attentive staff ensured my cup was always filled, offering a taste of Sri Lanka's morning rituals. One morning, I opted for an à la carte breakfast, savoring every bite overlooking the serene sea. From the hearty traditional fare to the lighter continental options, every bite was a testament to the hotel's dedication to culinary innovation. In the evenings, I explored the nearby Sunflower and Sasika Restaurants, each offering a unique gastronomic experience reflective of Sri Lanka's diverse culinary landscape. Whether indulging in a rich curry or savoring the simplicity of fresh seafood, every meal was a celebration of the island's flavors. If you seek a tranquil setting infused with gastronomic delights, this coastal gem is a must-visit.
